CLOVER, S.C. - Vergie Mae Smith Ledford, 73, of 845 Wilmoth Road, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, Rock Hill, S.C.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Tothrow officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday night at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Clover, S.C.
Mrs. Ledford was born Feb. 8, 1938, in Clover, S.C., to the late Roscoe Washington Smith and Leonna Bradley Smith Dulin. She was the widow of William Gwyndell Ledford.
Survivors are her daughter Kay Ruiz of Okeechobee, Fla.; sons Jase James Polk of Gastonia and Leon Polk of Clover, S.C.; sisters, Ethel Jenkins and Colleen Gorgoglione, both of Clover, S.C., and Mary Parris of Orland, Calif.; a brother, Vernon Johnson of Clover, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Carol Sue McAfee and Rudy Leonard.
