Roger L. Ledford

Roger L. Ledford, 69, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Ledford was a native of McVeigh, KY and had lived most of his life in Johnson City.

He was a son of the late Donald Talmadge Ledford and Vivian Louise Dillinger Ledford and was also preceded in death by three brothers, Patrick "Pat" Ledford, Donald Ledford and Ronald "Ronnie" Ledford and three sisters, Florence "Dimples" Ledford, Francis McCoy and Joyce Suiter.

Mr. Ledford was a US Navy Vietnam War veteran.

He retired from the Johnson City Fire Department.

Mr. Ledford was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church.

He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Ann Rosenbaum; one daughter, Marvella Fields and her husband, Tim Johnson City, one son, Ronald "Ronnie" Ledford and his wife, Holly Rudy, Johnson City; three brothers, Alan Ledford, Beckley, VA, Paul Ledford, and Dennis Ledford both of Johnson City; three sisters, Carol Varney, Pikeville, KY, Emma Spivey, London, KY and Molly Hultquist, Asheville, NC; six grandchildren, Joshua "Josh" Fields, Derek Fields, Robert "Robbie" Fields, Latyn Fields, Tyler Wills and Carrie Ann Ledford all of Johnson City and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services.

A celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday from the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services. Military graveside services will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Dr. Mike Oaks will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be his two youngest grandsons, Tyler Wills and Latyn Fields.
