Elmer Lee Ledford

Elmer Lee Ledford, 77, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

A native of McDowell County, Mr. Ledford was born Sept. 27, 1933, to the late Lester and Polly Turner Ledford.
Saddened by the loss of Mr. Ledford are his wife of 59 years, Ruth Earle Ledford, of the home; three children, his daughter, Peggy Koone, and her husband, Jimmy, of Union Mills; daughter Wanda Hester, and her husband, Joe, of Marion, and his son, David Ledford, of Cull-owhee; his brother, Jack Ledford and his wife, Clara, of Marion; three grandchildren, Leslie Hester, of Marion; Elizabeth Rogers and her husband, Barron, of Waynes-ville, and Ethan Hester of Lynchburg, Va.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 4, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
