Amanda Violet Ledford Stulls, 92, of Marion, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
A native of Mitchell County, she was born July 13, 1919, to the late Murdock Ledford and Lissie Pendley Ledford.
She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Amanda was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, David Oscar Stulls; one son, Ernest Stulls, and a daughter, Geneva Ward. She is survived by seven children, Grace Lowery, Samuel Oscar Stulls, Barbara Cable, Donald Stulls, Shelia Beam, Earl Stulls and Ronald Stulls; 20 grandchildren; 36 great- grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of West-moreland Funeral Home with the Revs. Milton Hollifield and Doug Woody officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Avery County. Westmoreland Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
