LAWNDALE - Mary Ethel Smart Ledford, 82, of 140 Ball Park Road, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
She was born in Cleveland County, on December 19, 1927, to the late Carl Worth Smart and Mamie Ethel Canipe Smart. She was retired form Shadowline Industries and was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William Ray Ledford; daughter, Kathy White of Shelby; grandson, Chris White of Salisbury, grandson and caregiver Dorian White of Lawndale; great-granddaughter, Ali White; brother, Calvin Smart of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; and sister, Bryte Palmer of Jacksonville, Fla.

Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Stamey Funeral Home
