Callie Lorene (Ledford) Sipes

DALLAS - Callie Lorene Ledford Sipes, 73, of Dallas graduated to her new home Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, from her home of 45 years.

A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Fisher and Cora Lee Crisp Ledford.

Mrs. Sipes was a retired registered nurse with Gaston Memorial Hospital and a charter member of Bright Light Baptist Church in Bessemer City.

She is survived by her husband, David Keith Sipes; two sons, Freddy Sipes and Michael Maxwell, both of Dallas; three daughters, Leanne Thrift of Dallas, Julie Thompson of Mount Gilead, Lyne Martin and husband Kevin of Dallas; six grandchildren, Matthew Morris, Delilah Randolph, Cole Meadows, Jacob Randolph, Alexis Sprouse, Gavin Sipes; two great-grandchildren, Falon Morris, Luke Williams; a brother, Melvin Ledford of Dallas; a sister, Darlene Ledford McFalls of Cullowhee; special friend and daughter-in-law, Wanda Williams; cousins, Dot Pasour and husband Audie, Martha Friday and husband Jimmy.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Bright Light Baptist church, 112 White-Jenkins Road, Bessemer City with Pastor Wayne Reese officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dallas Funeral Home.
