Rev. Frank F. Ledford

Rev. Frank F. Ledford, 87, of Mt. Airy, GA, formerly of Murphy, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Cherokee County, but had been living in Habersham County, GA for the past seven years. Frank had worked as a pipe fitter, and was a Baptist minister retiring from Grace Baptist Church in Doraville, GA. He was also a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church in Commerce, GA.

He was the son of the late William Ervin and Zadie Flora Loudermilk Ledford and the husband of the late Parilee Haney Ledford, who died September 30, 1966.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Stockton Mize; three daughters, Doris Raper and husband, Goldman of Murphy, Betty Louise Singleton of Lawrenceville, GA, and Gail Howard and husband, Dennis of East Sparta, OH; a step-son, Kale Mize of Clarkesville, GA; seven grandchildren, Todd Howard of Louisville, OH, Kimalee Tomblin of East Sparta, Jarrette Leonard of Rockmart, GA, Kathy Cliff of Athens, GA, Glenda Ware of Blue Ridge, GA, and Joann Moore and Debbie Brown, both of Murphy; and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 8 in the Chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy with Dr. Robert Driggers, Rev. Parker Burgess, and Rev. Enoch Martin officiating. Interment will be in the New Martins Creek Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles and Kenny Ledford, Todd and Jesse Howard, Nathaniel Tomblin, and Kale Mize.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
