Vera (Jackson) Ledford (1915-2012)
YORK, S.C. - Vera Jackson Ledford, 96,
formerly of McConnell Street, Clover, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, White Oak
Manor, York.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012,
at Lakeview Memory Gardens conducted by the Rev. Evan English followed by a
memorial service at 3 p.m. at Clover A.R.P Church.
The family will
receive friends after the service in the church sanctuary.
Mrs. Ledford
was born Oct. 23, 1915, in York County, S.C. to the late William Harvey and
Isabella Douglas Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Floyd
Ledford; and son, Max Terry Ledford.
Mrs. Ledford was the oldest member
of Clover A.R.P. Church and worked for The American Thread Co. and retired from
Klear Knit Inc.
Survivors are grandchildren, Glenda Beckham (Roy) of
Sharon, Terri Ayers of Chester and Bobby Ledford of York; four
great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Ann
Dixon of Clover, Jane Sifford of Lake Wylie, Leonard Jackson of Lake Murary and
Nell Lloyd of Atlanta, Ga.; and other nieces and nephews.
The family
would like to thank White Oak Manor in York and Hospice Care of South Carolina
for their loving care they provided for Mrs. Ledford.
