Martha Robenia Ledford Merritt, 82, of Hayesville passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 in a Murphy medical center.
She was a native of Clay County but moved briefly to Michigan before moving to a suburb of Los Angeles, where she lived for nearly 40 years. She returned to Hayesville after her brother died in 1993. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Hiawassee, GA.
She was the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Lee and Minnie Lee Matheson Ledford. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Robbie Ledford, Rena Matheson, and Reba Rigsby; and four brothers, Ronda, Ralph, Robert, and Ray Ledford.
Surviving are a daughter, Janice Lee Bartlett of Hayesville; a son, Richard Merritt of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Reuben Ledford; five grandchildren, David, Nicholas, and Eric Merritt, Michael Fox, and Jacob Bartlett; and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, Oct. 12 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with Mr. Richard Fielitz officiating.
The family requests memorials be made in memory of Martha Robenia Ledford Merritt to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 907 Sunnyside Road, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
